The Pixel 11 lineup is here — and it is very much a Pixel.
Start with the most frustrating thing
The Pixel 11 Pro has a brand new multicolored glowing LED on the back. Looks cool. Google calls it HiLight. So what does it do?
It glows when a favourite contact calls you. And it glows when you use Gemini.
That's it. No notification light for texts. No third-party support. Just calls and Gemini. Google put brand new hardware on the Pro and gave it two use cases. That's the Pixel 11 story in one paragraph.
The prices went up. The base Pro RAM went down.

The Pro RAM cut is the real gut punch. Last year's Pixel 10 Pro had 16GB at $999. This year's 11 Pro 256GB starts at $1,099 with 12GB. You pay more, you get less memory. RAMageddon is real.
What's actually new — from Google's own store
Pixel 11 (base): New 48MP main camera with 56% better light sensitivity. Tensor G6, 12GB RAM, 256GB base storage. 3,000-nit Actua display. Wireless charging 25% faster. New colour: Hibiscus. 30+ hours battery life. No HiLight LED — that's Pro only.
Pixel 11 Pro / Pro XL: Big 50MP 1/1.3-inch main sensor. 48MP telephoto with 30% more light sensitivity and 120x Pro Zoom. 48MP ultrawide. 42MP front camera with autofocus. 3,600-nit Super Actua display with anti-scratch coating — 9% brighter than before. Wireless charging up to 29% faster. Reaches 75% in about 30 minutes wired. HiLight LED on back. Up to 16GB RAM on 512GB and 1TB models.
Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Tensor G6, 16GB RAM, HiLight LED, new hinge — 1mm thinner and lighter. Still IP68. Still has a crease. $1,899.
Two bonus drops
Pixel Watch 5 — same circular design, new Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip, 50% more on-device RAM, better GPS, generative watch faces. $399/$429.
Google Tag — AirTag competitor using Android's Find Hub network. Works with Gemini. Ships November. $29 each or $99 for four — identical pricing to AirTags.
Bottom line
Pixels are still the smartest smartphones — not the fastest, not the best hardware, just the cleverest software. Call screening, Now Playing, Gemini everywhere. The new Creator Suite teleprompter mode in the camera is genuinely useful. Magic Capture, Instant Night Sight, 8K Video Boost on the Pro — real upgrades.
But you're paying more for less this year on the base Pro. The Pixel 11 at $899 is the best value in the lineup — bigger storage, good cameras, solid software. The Pro is harder to justify when the RAM goes backward at a higher price.
And HiLight? Wasted potential on hardware that deserved more.
